Robert and Leslie Zemeckis will be teaming up to create the documentary Bound By Flesh that will focus on Violet and Daisy Hilton, the Siamese sisters that were joined at the hip. The twins used to perfom on vaudeville and quickly became the top grossing act which is actually a step up from the wax museum and sideshows they used to be part of when they were younger.
At the peak of the twin’s fame, they actually worked alongside Bob Hope, Jack Benny, and even Burns and Allen. Robert Zemeckis will be producing the film with assistance from Jackie Levine.
The conjoined twins that are the subject of the film were born in Brighton, England and their mother who was single sold them off to her boss at a bar who figured he could make a fortune off of them at the freak shows. They were exploited for many years until they sued and eventually were able to get out of the freak shows and pursue their own business.
