Christopher Nolan the Director, stated that James Bond movies were a strong inspiration for his new film Inception. The new sci-fi thriller premiered in the UK on Thursday night in London. The film which stars Leonardo DiCaprio follows a team of thieves that are able to steal secrets using access to other people’s dreams.
Nolan stated that the film was influenced by Bond films which show through intentionally because growing up with Bond films for hi always represented the best in action films. Nolan was also the director behind Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Critics have already praised Inception for its blend of emotion and action with some going as far as to call it a masterpiece. Like many Bond films, Inception was also shot in many locations around the world including Canada, Morocco, Japan, and France.
Primary cast members outside of DiCaprio include Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, and Michael Caine.
Nolan explained that the appeal behind the Bond films is that they always were able to take the audience to a place that is larger than you can imagine.
In terms of Inception, he added that when you look at human dreams the mind is naturally drawn to the Bond style given that it has a cinematic expression behind it that makes you feel as if the film can do anything and go anywhere.
He also explained that the plot of Inception has been kept secret due to the fact that he likes to keep the film experience fresh for audiences.

Inception was one of the most confusing movies I’ve ever seen! I liked it, but through out the whole movie I just kept on saying, “WHAT THE HECK!?!?” I have to see it again, it was certainely unique!
