After denying it for weeks, Casey Affleck finally admitted that the breakdown by Joaquin Phoenix in the documentary ‘I’m Still Here’ was faked.
Affleck has denied that the breakdown was fake since the movie started to be shown and most recently while it was playing at the Venice Film Festival.
However, this week Affleck stated in an interview that the scene was fake but added that the performance was astounding and completely watchable due to the fact that there is a wide array of emotions in just the one scene.
Affleck also praised Phoenix for his performance and keeping the façade quiet for so long and not giving in to the comments and the rumours surrounding the scene in the press.
I knew deep down that Joaquin had to be playing a dirty joke on us all. It just seems a bit extreme even for him.
